Out at Panther Key

Out exploring high low tide at Panther Key.
Not a low low tide, but a high low tide ;)

As we were looking at the birds in the picture to the right (which were probably dunlins and perhaps dowitchers), the flock suddenly flew away... Moments later an osprey with fish in beak came flying over... Following the opsrey was an eagle! The eagle chased the osprey until the osprey dropped the fish. The eagle grabbed up the fish and then the osprey kept dive-booming the eagle as it was flying away. It was quite a sight!
We also saw American oystercatchers, a stuning bird with a bright orange beak.
SV Athena and SV Blue Highway rafted up together to enjoy the surroundings.

Can't wait to see the birds. The scene of the two boats together is spectacular shot.
