Along Panther Key we also saw many crab traps washing ashore, some still within the water and ghost fishing...Ghost fishing is the term used for lost or abandoned fishing gear that continues to catch fish (or other marine life).
The marine life are caught in the trap or fishing gear and starve to death. Their death attracts other marine life that then get caught and starve to death. I think you get the picture.Senseless waste of life.
